Commercial Litigation Opening – comp, experience, partnership, quality of life

Commercial Litigation Opening – comp, experience, partnership, quality of life   I was contacted yesterday (November 25th) by a partner at a Dallas law firm that is seeking a 2010 grad for a new litigation associate opening.  I have placed with this firm previously and they extended an offer to another litigation associate candidate of mine earlier this year.  This practice is commercial litigation and the partnership track is brief.  Clients range from Fortune 500 companies to smaller clients.  With these smaller clients, there comes the ability for a young litigator to get considerable experience in all phases of litigation.  This is definitely a unique opportunity.  The firm is seeking someone who can hit the ground running and has hands-on experience, especially with regard to briefing and other written product.  There is a strong preference for someone with experience in the courtroom and with taking depositions.  Also, a hard worker and solid academics.

Texas boomed in 2011

Texas – especially Dallas – boomed in 2011.  Personal income grew in every metropolitan statistical area in America, but Texas was a star performer. Its biggest MSA, the Dallas-Fort Worth area, was in the top quintile of all American metro areas. So was Houston. So was San Antonio. So was Austin. So was El Paso. That’s five out of the state’s top five metro areas, and you can throw in Corpus Christie and some of the small West Texas cities for good measure.  http://www.slate.com/blogs/moneybox/2012/11/26/texas_income_growth_dallas_houston_austin_san_antonio_el_paso_all_in_the.html
